Piero Palmucci acquires Poggio di Sotto. The vineyards date back to before the 1970s, thriving in a single body of land surrounding the winery.

1991

The first vintage of Brunello by Poggio di Sotto is produced.

1994

The first vintage of Poggio di Sotto Rosso di Montalcino is produced.

1995

The first harvest of Brunello di Montalcino Riserva.

2011

Claudio Tipa acquires Poggio di Sotto, which becomes part of the ColleMassari Wine Estates. The expansion of the vineyards begins, and the aging cellar is modernized.

2012-2013

Poggio di Sotto undertakes a significant ampelographic study that results in the census of 182 clones found among the estate's rows, biotypes unique to Poggio di Sotto. These clones are studied, cataloged, and included in a genetic conservation program for the planting of new plots.

2014

The study of Sangiovese clones leads to the creation of Poggio di Sotto's first experimental vineyard, followed by new plantings.

2022

Wine Advocate awards 100 points to Poggio di Sotto Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2016.
